About AAERI

The Association of Australian Education Representatives in India (AAERI) was established in October 1996 to promote ethical, transparent, and professional practices among Indian education agents who assist students in pursuing studies in Australia.

The establishment of AAERI was an initiative of Australian Education International (AEI), Australian High Commission, New Delhi although AAERI is an independent and democratic organisation, registered under the Societies Registration Act of India.

At its core, AAERI is all about self-regulation — ensuring that education agents hold themselves to high standards of conduct and accountability. Through a strict Code of Conduct and Code of Ethical Practice, AAERI members commit to providing services that protect student interests and reflect the values of Australian education institutions.

The AAERI Code of Conduct and Code of Ethics is built upon three key frameworks:
  • The Australian Government’s Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Act
  • The London Statement
  • The Australian International Education and Training Agent Code of Ethics

Together, these frameworks ensure that AAERI members operate with integrity, professionalism, and a strong commitment to student welfare, while promoting accurate advice, transparent practices, and a student-first approach.

AAERI agents offer support in:
  • Understanding the total cost of education in Australia
  • Applying for scholarships and understanding work rights
  • Choosing the right course and institution
  • Visa application guidance and enrolment assistance
  • Information on housing, legal rights, and student services
Why choose an AAERI member?
  • They follow a clearly displayed Code of Conduct and Code of Ethical Practice, aligned with Australian regulations.
  • They provide honest, unbiased, and responsible advice, always putting student interests first.
  • They charge only a nominal processing fee, if any — capped at ₹25,000, as per AAERI guidelines.
  • They are committed to self-regulation, continuously monitoring and improving their practices to uphold AAERI standards.
  • They promote professionalism in international student recruitment and follow global best practices.

AAERI is built on the principle of self-regulation — by the industry, for the industry — to protect students and strengthen trust in the education system.
